From OpenEMR Project Wiki

Family Doc First computer 1962 had 3 bit register, manual CPU

I post on the Independent and Solo AAFP MIG and CAFP SPARK.

I saw the entry at Hosted_OpenEMR https://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/Hosted_OpenEMR and wanted to add a note- to do this you must have a BAA with the hosting organization. Cloud service providers that retain PHI, even if they can't access it dt encryption, MUST have BAA for US providers. Silly, but that's how CMS interprets the law. https://www.hhs.gov/hipaa/for-professionals/faq/2077/can-a-csp-be-considered-to-be-a-conduit-like-the-postal-service-and-therefore-not-a-business%20associate-that-must-comply-with-the-hipaa-rules/index.html

Also wanted to add a note to the WP Portal discussion that the WP portal is down for maintenance, maybe permanently. Also wanted to add a note to the telemedicine discussion that "conduits" like the phone company, post office and video do NOT need BAA. I know enough about programming to know what an API is, but not how to use one. I know enough about UI's to know all the EMRs are terrible time sucks. VISTA, and thus OpenEMR are the least bad.

I know enough about business to know US medical economic model is broken. Interested in UI, documentation.

Subject matter expert HIPAA, CURES. Iconoclast.

Opinions my own but I document.
