I have a very varied background in a range of commercial and academic disciplines. Relating to homeopathy what is relevant is a longstanding interest in a natural approach to health, nutrition, fitness and sport.

I initially studied for a BSc in agriculture where my specialization was in Ecology. I like to view the human from an ecological perspective. Via lifestyle advice and the selection of homeopathic remedies my desire is to improve the health and vitality of the whole person/ecosystem.

My homeopathic registration with Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa, is via the degree qualification of Masters of Homeopathy from the Durban University of Technology (DUT).

A long time interest of mine is in the men’s movement drawing on the work of Robert Bly, Michael Meade and James Hillman. Over the last 20 years I have participated in a number of self-help men’s groups. I have found the experience to be very rewarding. At a previous practice (‘The Healing Movement Centre’) there is a wonderful synergy between homeopathic treatment and Network/Cranio-Sacral therapy.

Both systems share the need to work with the core or essence of the patient to effect deep, sustained healing. Thus I often suggest that patients make use of these complementary services.

I have worked for 3 years as the principal Homeopathic Doctor in multi-purpose centre in the Seychelles, returning in July 2012. It was wonderful experience to work with people from all over the world. In the Seychelles I co-wrote a series of articles on the various topics relating to the natural approach to health. These articles are available here.

Besides homeopathy, the Indian Ocean around Durban, offers me the after hour pursuits of sailing, surfing (stand up paddle board), and Surf – Ski Kayaking.
