My name is Fay Naj and I represent VoIP4Africa Ltd., a UK based company providing IT solutions such as Colocation, IP Telecoms, Healthcare IT to companies around Africa (www.VoIP4Africa.net).

On the Healthcare IT scene, we've been actively promoting the move towards Electronic Medical Records to the medical industry in East Africa, especially in Kenya. On this I'm happy to say we've been encouraging the use of OpenEMR as our preferred EMR solution and have been holding seminars and vocational training to players in the medical industry around Kenya. Among our many presentations, on 3rd October this year we hosted a seminar in which we presented OpenEMR to the 'Kenya Medical Association' in a presentation entitled, "Tools To A Better Healthcare - We Know You Care", which was attended by over 50 professionals from the medical industry. The Kenya Medical Association is an umbrella body for all doctors, physicians, representatives from the Hospitals and Clinics, etc. I welcome you to view our presentation that was made to the Kenya Medical Association on 3rd October which is available online in two parts: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/25872810 (you can skip the first 3min) http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/25872964

In addition, we've also done presentations in Nairobi to the different doctors plaza's and are doing our best to create a broad awareness to the benefits of OpenEMR.

Seeing the positive response, we've now formed 'HealthIT Kenya' (www.HealthITkenya.com) a joint project by VoIP4Africa Ltd. and our regional representative in Kenya, DataPoint Ltd. (www.DataPointKenya.info) to actively promote the use of OpenEMR in the Kenyan medical industry.
