It's taken 35 yrs of practicing medicine, wading through a helluva lot of complex, unnecessary and stupid healthcare fixes for me to give birth to Unorthodoc® which is organized around the patient-provider relationship in a way both familiar and radical. Our affordable membership program is modeled after community-supported agriculture, except instead of fresh produce, we deliver fresher, more nourishing health care. This is the medicine I was born to practice.

Ironically, the interference of poorly conceived technology nearly drove me into early retirement. Had I never experienced the difference intuitive design around what humans need, I would be teaching swing dancing by now. I am not a code artist, not even a code amateur. But I know good code when my life is enriched by it. I have wandered into OpenEMR because I believe in the motivating power of community. I may have nothing to add in terms of code creation, but make something that allows me to protect or customize the precious real estate between my eyes and my patient's and I will contribute both honest critique and heart-felt praise.
