I manage a small medical practice in Central Florida which specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Our adoption of OpenEMR in June 2011 was prompted by frustrations with a proprietary EMR that was recommended by another doctor. OpenEMR and the open-source movement have been immensely beneficial to both our business and my personal life. Much of my free time is spent studying the technologies that OpenEMR is built upon so I can help pay it forward and contribute back to the project.
