After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from New York University, she graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine to obtain her medical degree. After a year of surgery at Brooklyn Hospital Center, she went back to University at Buffalo to complete her residency in family medicine. She has over 23 years of diverse experience; working as a Family Medicine Specialist in New Jersey before branching into the field of pain management. Dr. Gutierrez feels working in family medicine was able to give her a more well-rounded approach to pain management.
